The general search functionality (on the start page) searches all objects, but initially only the collection objects are included in the search. If no hits are found within the collection objects, the metadata of the collections are searched additionally. All text fields are analysed and searched as a full text search. This has the great advantage that partial terms are found more easily. When searching across all collections, a faceting of results by collection is performed in addition to the search result. Grouping the hits by collection allows direct access to these subsets. For each collection there is a dedicated search. Here you can search directly in all the fields of the quick view. Since each collection is structured differently, the search is adapted to the respective contents. The collection directors decide what this search actually looks like. For example, they determine which fields should be displayed as a selection list.
Partial terms can be searched for specifically by using the percentage sign (%) as a placeholder. This placeholder replaces any number of characters in the search term.
